Red chambray is back, just released in Japan. But with a minor change, the pockets are different. We will have limited stock in sizes small, medium, and large. Cost is $215. Please send me a pm or e-mail if interested.

Fabric, construction, and color identical to this shirt:

The pockets will look like this shirt:

I just received my Sunny Sports 40's Workshirt in red chambray. I had my suspicions from the photos I had seen that it was the same plum chambray from Okayama that Hill-Side uses. Upon close inspection, they are, in fact the same- same color, weight, selvage line, everything. I've bugged the Hill-Side brothers in the past to make shirts from the chambray, so I am glad someone finally did. In my opinion, it's the perfect red chambray- muted red warp with natural weft, heavy thread, but loose weave, with just the right amount of slub. Based on the measurements from Blue Owl and CHCM (both sold out), I bought a Large, which was a wise choice. The fit is very similar to my Large MFSC Utility chambrays (which, remember, shrink to the size of a raw Medium), but the Sunny Sports is a little narrower in the shoulder, with pretty much a straight fit in the body, and slimmer sleeves. I proxied it from CEL Store, via Hide at SharpService. Total cost was the same as NA retail.

Looks awesome on you, Z. I still think it's one of the best looking red chambrays out there.

I just wish the pockets weren't changed on the second order. Yes agreed, great looking color and fit Zissou, although I can't say the same for the shoes.

Thanks, toru and jryder. I'm very happy with the shirt. If you don't want the new version, you could always proxy the old one...

No one likes my shoes!

Zissou, I don't mean any disrepect and generally believe that a critical analysis can be done with a moniker of politenes. I hope you don't take this poorly, but with the expection of your timbers, the other two pair I usually see you wearing seem not to fit with your workwear, sailorwear, distinguished professor vibe. If I had to guess, I would say they come from an earlier rendition of Zissou the man.

Dang, kicking myself for blowing spring shirt budget on EG. These kill.
^not to make you feel bad, but I think they are much nicer than the EG chambrays, and have a better (slightly slimmer) fit. JRyder, I don't mind the criticism at all. You are correct in that the brown chukkas are from a previous incarnation of me, and should be donated to the local thrift shop. All other leather shoes I wear (black winter boots, black captoe oxfords, natural [but distressed] wingtips) are from Timberland Boot Co and were purchased at discount in the last year. The quality of my shoes is directly related to the fact that almost all of my spare change goes into, and is in, my house renovations. As soon as I sell my house -BAM!- shopping trip to LA for some Julian boots or perhaps Aldens.

Nice fit Zissou! I really like the way you turn your belt to the next belt loop.

Thanks, Jay! I think L is defintiely my size. I was gonna say I'm interested in a black one at some point, but too bad I don't have the $ for your sale at the moment

Are you also getting the chambrays with new pocket design in grey or black?

Just the red chambray for now. We may pick up some of the other colors in the future.
