Has anyone run in one of these races? http://toughmudder.com/

I just signed up for the May event: http://toughmudder.com/events/bear-c...ear-creek-map/

Anyone input from someone with experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Looks exciting. I may do the N CA course. The bro-ham factor is pretty high, though.

yeah I saw a bunch of ads for similar races and they look like a very crossfit broham thing (nothing against CF)

Pretty much what I was thinking when I looked at the website.

Looks like fun to me.

Looks like fun, but 7 miles of that stuff is nothing I'd be interested in doing.

I've raced in similar mud runs, hard corp series races etc.. and yes loads of cross-fitters show, they puff their chests and prance around. Which is why its fun as shit to ruin them. I've never seen a cross-fitter inside the top 10.

I'm just doing it for the t-shirt (although the free tattoo is tempting after enough free beer).

I prefer atrophy, personally.

Me too. I'd sign up and everything, but then I'd get all muddy and drive to where the finish line is and hang out with all the guys - patting them on the back and ass as if I was one of the homies that finished the race. I'd be saying, "Goddamn! I'm gonna be sore tomorrow!"

I think that it would actually be pretty cool, and there's one in Austin. I'll be signing up.

Thanks for the link.

Man that'd be pretty insane to try and train for, I don't know if I'd have the endurance, but I'd love to try. As I get older, I keep wanting to try and find something competitive so I have an end goal for my training and I have no interest in marathon's or triathlons so it can be tough to find something.

We're seriously considering something similar for next year to break the monotony of training.
