Thread Starter
Has anyone had any experience with Umberto the Tailor in Wilton, CT? The website says he does bespoke suits but also alterations, which is what I'm interested in.

I am bumping this very old thread. He is rather local to me and would be convenient, but it's difficult to take a 3-4 kilobuck flyer on an unknown quantity on the wrong side of 70.

Anyone?

Why don't you take him some tough alterations and see how it goes? If he's in good health, being over 70 doesn't mean anything, except that he probably learned tailoring the old-fashioned Italian way: no cutting corners.

I wish that he were close to me.
From his website, which has not been updated,
his "house style" looks very classic. I would have him make
a pair of dress slacks for me- to start- I am very particular about
trousers.
