Buying a new mattress, been shopping around but not sure, any suggestions?

Getting a new mattress in the coming weeks, not looking to drop more than about $2300... been to all the places near me (Sleepys, Jordans, Bernie & Phyls, etc.) and cannot figure out what to go with. Nothing I tried really felt that great, prob. the best was the Tempur Cloud Supreme, its their version of a pillow top.

However, from reading previous posts on here and elsewhere there seems to be mixed reviews over the Tempur's, especially concerning heat. I can get the Queen Cloud Supreme for about $2k.

Anyother suggested brands/models to check out? Have alot of pressure points on the shoulders and hips (atleast that is what those pressure mapping machines they have in store said).

The W hotel mattress isd very comfortable and can be had for $600

I am just about to try my first memory foam. I don't think you need to spend over 2k to get a good one, they can be had cheaper. Most furniture stores carry brands other than temper, just out the reviews on those.

most mattress stores are rape-fests. i have a simmons beautyrest black that i bought online a bit over a year ago and love it.

I am going to have to disagree with this, within my household we have one of the foam costco ones (forget the brand) and have a novafoam (I think that is the name), and neither comes close to the comfort of the Tempur (atleast the Cloud supreme version). The lower model Tempurs, thats a different story, some of thier lower end models felt no different from the $600 Costco one I have had.

Plus not really concerned about money (as long as it is roughly sub-$2300), more concerned with getting a good noghts sleep on something that is not going to have a permenant trough in 2-3 years.

also looking for a mattress and have the same budget. after hearing all the horror stories about how much you get ripped off at the bed megastores, i will most likely go with http://www.flobeds.com/

i already know i'm going to go latex so i'm not too worried about not being able to try out the flobed since i've already tried out a bunch of latex mattresses.

Another vote for Simmons Beautyrest Black or World Class. Get the firm bed and if too firm at first throw a thin mattress pad on top. Do not buy Tempur (I used to own one) . It is a complete marketing scam. It does not transfer heat and makes you sweat all night, it does not allow you to change position because you sink into it at night. Sleeping on tempur is like sleeping in a hot pothole. Don't ever buy mattress pads stuffed with wool or horsehair (I owned one from Hestens), they are shifting after 4 nights and make you sink in a hole as if you had an old sagging mattress. Best option for cool mattress pad (if your Simmons is too firm) is 1.5-2 inch., LOW density memory foam pad that you can change every 3-4 years. Low density foam is more compressible and stores less heat thus provides softness without too much warmth. Winning solution=Simmons+thin foam pad.

I just bought an NXT and sent it back. Just went and got a Westin bed on one of their routine sales. Much happier.

Have you thought about a latex mattress? They are supportative, they last forever, and you can get them without all the flame retardants that most mattress come with.

We have the Stearns & Foster Estate Collection Luxury Firm Euro Pillowtop. It was under $2k and we are very happy with it.
