I think a lot of people are getting on your case and judging you unfairly, but I'm surprised you didn't seek him out in person yet. I'd show up to his office or at least give him a phone call about setting up a face-to-face meeting. You can't afford to be passive on this.

Update: The AD is allowing the prof to grade the paper.

I am just curious how this can happen? In my 8 years of school, grades have to be in and approved by a certain date (in from the prof and approved by the dean). How can the prof just change the grade. I always assumed the prof had no authority or access to change a grade once it went on your transcript. Is that not the whole point of a transcript, to say what you got in a class, not to say what you have in a class until it is changed on whim? Also, would this not affect the grade distribution in the class? I really think this may be one of the many differences between school in Canada and down south.

Dude honestly, I wouldn't throw him under the bus, he seems like a cool dude.
I would just talk with him, and ask what you should say.
