Drinking usually helps.

I can't drink and play. Even the littlest bit affects my playing exponentially.

12 strings are so much fun for certain songs and that wonderful chime sound. But once I get one I never end up keeping it for very long. I have a hard enough time keeping 6 strings in tune smile.gif

I used to want an SG double neck like Jimmy Page had and I reminded myself how annoying it is to change 6 strings.

Geddy and Alex broke out their vintage double necks last summer on tour. It was 70s kitchy awesome.

Here is my current "place holder" flat top. It's a nice little old Martin 0-18 from 1965. So a classic folk-era small body.

These small body Martins are very comfortable sitting back on the couch yet have surprising volume with medium lite strings. This will be prefect for me to get back my acoustic chops and decide what would be ideal. But I think I will begin looking around for 00-18 from the 50's. A friend (who is one of the guitar guys for Keef and Mick) always has a few coming and going. He really loves them and uses them for trades all over the world. So there should be some good ones to try out in the coming months.

But, this will do nicely for now.

You think changing a double neck is annoying? Imagine being the guitar tech for Rick?

Yeah I joined but didn't play because I suck, but it was really cool. Tale of two opposites really. Booth so scientific, and gave a good lesson on some complex chords. My neighbor, on the other hand, was drinking and smoking weed.

After a solid jam with pB on rhythm and neighbor on lead:

pB: "walk me through that jam."

neighbor: "ummmm. huh. I like to go really high, then switch it up and go really low."

pB: "ah"

neighbour sounds cool, man.

That's a nice amp. I've always felt like Marshall doesn't do enough low wattage heads.

Speaking of amps though, has anyone tried a Kemper?

This video has me very tempted.
yeah a mate has a kemper.

Phenomenal piece of kit. He had various profiles of most popular amps and it sounded superb. I couldn't tell the difference - not that I particularly care for "true valve" sound anyway. . I really like the way it looks too.

What was the result of that video? CBF watching it the whole way through.

Not up to date and did not know they released a low watt Silver Jubilee.

I have an original Black Jubilee 50/25W, and it's awesome.
