25 watts pushed will be very, very loud. Free concert for the neighbors type of loud.

Luckily this is a decision that's not due, based on current projections, until third quarter next year.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just get the power scaling? I guess Pio just isn't the discerning gear head I thought he was...

Booth, are you getting the Mini combo or head/cab?

Think that cab could also be used with other, more powerful, heads? If I go Mini head/cab I plan to get the 2x12.

I think you are really stuck on this power thing. That 12 watt amp would be more than powerful for anything you plan to do with it. As other have said if you need more volume just pair it with a bigger cab. More speakers move more air = louder. More speakers can make your guitar louder than sheer wattage.

might depend on the speakers.

I see Marshall 1960A or 1960B cabinets pop up on craigslist all the time in the $300-400 range.

so it's approx. half volume to go from 100 to 12. Perfect in my book.

100 watts really does make your ears bleed when you're trying to push the power tubes.

. I just do not want to spend 3k on an amp and decide later I should have bought one with more power.

go to your GC and play the Fender Blues Jr. that they (apparently) have in stock there. It's 15 watts, and that'll take care of any doubt regarding power.

it's an awesome amp. My father plays 2 of them in stereo with one receiving some sort of effects treatment and the other not.

really loud, too. It cuts over drums no problem at all.

I have a 20w Swart AST Pro and that thing is ridiculously loud for playing in an apartment. I rarely crank it above 2-3.

Picked up their Night Light attenuator recently and it'll be interesting to see how that makes it sound at lower levels.
