looking forward to the tele project. If you get an unfinished body, I know a great nitro refinisher.

Do tell - basic, solid colors would run $185 on the Warmoth site to receive the body already finished. Any idea what your finisher would charge?

i think it's $300 or so, but I think that includes charges to deal with the electronics and then strip the pre-existing paint and any primer. That $300 was for a burst too, not sure if a single color would be different. I'll put it this way, I had a Fender custom shop refinished, and it was so good that my father is going to have his American Vintage strat stripped and then re-painted in the exact same color by this guy. Hell of a job. Mind you this guy won't bother if you want a thick-sturdy job, he keeps things very thin. My American Vintage strat feels like concrete next to the refinished burst. Find a lightweight body, and that thing will sing.

Here's the strat. The red looks a little saturated, but that's just the iPhone's fault:

what be those?

i browse the craigslists of a few cities everyday looking to see what's up. Passed on a Japanese DS-2 a few weeks ago, and that was dumb. Looking for a Boss delay and hoping to stumble up one of those vintage Boss Chorus pedals.

One's a reissue 3-knob tonebender, the spaceship is an Octavia.

You want a CE-1 or a CE-2? There's a guy selling a MASSIVE amount of vintage gear a few blocks from my office, pretty sure he has a CE-2.

Great fuzz pedal that is.

That's the one Hendrix used, right? I hate fuzz pedals.

Fuzz pedals are like the destroyers of tone. Power tube distortion or bust.

You're not playing the right fuzz pedals.

The Octavia has to go back. Not because it doesn't work - it works fantastically and sounds amazing - but because the guy who sold it to me wasn't supposed to sell it, he found out from his boss. angry.gif But he'll probably give me a good deal on some stuff when I go back, so all's not lost.

Hmmm, this sounds like a personal problem to me...
