HA! I've done that before. Thanks about the Shoes.

They are Florsheim Custom Mades circa approx 1930. I'm a fan of vintage trees & went through maybe 20 pairs of vintage trees to find a pair that fit so well.

By the way, I've been told that the marking on the sole may well be the original price. $19.99. To put that in perspective, in the 1936 Weyenberg catalog (who made very nice shoes then), the shoes ranged from $2.25 for the "Economy Model" to $4.50 for the "Deluxe Captoe Oxford in Kangaroo".

And before you ask, the formula is: good fit + lasted trees & proper care = no creases.

Scaforas usually run at USD1600 or more. These were on sale at Yoox for USD600 or so from memory as were a few pairs hereabouts. Some store in Switzerland had some pairs. My understanding is that all Scafora shoes even RTW are hand stitched.

don't even really need to be lasted, just well-fitting.
