Cole Haan Werner.
I had read that these were a reproduction of a 1920's style Cole Haan had. However, the style is almost certainly late 30's or 1940's. What a FABULOUS Spade Sole design, In fact, the soles on these rival ANY I've ever seen. Talk about "Lickable"!
The finishing on the uppers is also done extremely nicely. In short, I love just about everything about these... EXCEPT...
That FREAKING TERRIBLE CORRECTED GRAIN LEATHER!!!!
I can't believe they used this garbage. It looks like the stuff I saw on a pair of AE Concords (I think that's the model). Look at those creases, and these aren't even really worn. Try-on creasing like that??? Unexcusable!
Anyway...

Other than the leather trouble those are swell!

I've had some experience with the cruddy leather on the more recent Cole Haans shog[1].gif

I conditioned mine heavily with good old mink oil (three times in three days) and have no creasing after nearly 20 wears. Maybe that cheap leather deserves to be treated cheaply!

Can't wait for the day you do a comprehensive photo posting of your complete spade sole collection as a collective comparison, you've been posting some killer shoes on here.

I agree. Especially the finish on the pair on the extreme right. Nice mottled antiquing.

Thanks guys, just updated the bottom picture with the shoe details. The Lanston and Woodcote are mine and I'm selling the 10.5E Philip II's and 7E Oakley's smile.gif thought it was my one and only chance to do a group Lobb photo.

JL has truly beautiful finishes and colours, always inspiring. Consider Lobbotomized.

My favorite shoe. I have the chestnut museum calf. I bought them for about 60% off a couple of years ago on B&S. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Edward Green Dover, Antique Dark Oak, 888 last.

From Brooks Brothers, no less.

I also ordered the EG Chelsea suede captoe. It is on the 82, and is fugly in real life, so it's going back. For once the BB website makes something look better than it does when you actually see it in person.
