I have a pair of unworn Bostonians in shell that I think are probably around the same age. Be interested in comparing the numbers.

They are fully leather lined. The numbers on the side (if there were any) are gone now. The size is stamped on the sole. They are a Boutique model, made for some long gone mens' store. I was able to date them by the style of the shoe (I have a general idea how to do so, but know some real vintage shoe "connoisseurs" that can do a better job than I).

Actually, dating was confirmed by the gentleman who bought them new in 1964 for his Honeymoon. Wore them for a week, then never again.

Did he say why he never wore them again?

isshi, the vintage gators are very well done. Superb matching, and the condition looks great given the age. I agree with patrickBOOTH that they would be even better if they were oxfords.

Wanted to maximize his price when he sold them to me 47 years in the future.

Just kidding. Sometimes I need a minute of comic relief between bouts of yelling at my employees & clients.

I'd want to wear those shoes with suits, and I prefer oxfords with suits. I'd still wear those bluchers, but would like them better as oxfords.

Beautiful color.

Mannina is such a pleasure to go into - I got a pair when I was in Florence a few years ago and they are the nicest shoes I own and the price was, at that time, very reasonable for the quality.

Cravate, in some of the pictures you posted before there is an Asian guy working in the shop but I remember a Japanese lady working in the shop when I was there. Do you know about her and where she might have gone? Also, how old do you think Mr. Mannina is and is the son involved with the actual making of the shoes as well?
