Ebay / local pickup find from yesterday.

AE Bristol PTB. Described in a 1996 AE catalog as black cherry shell cordovan. unlike the AE Leeds this model has a single oak sole and doesn't not have the split reverse welt.

Pliny - I'm feeling those EG Chelseas! I'm into my new Lobb City IIs though- its like a chestnut color but the museum calf really spices it up!

gusvs your SC 522's are beautiful, enjoy them. Here is a pic of my 522s in shell cordovan in the wild. I had a great experience ordering with Philip Carr also, what a gentleman.

However after only walking around with them for about 10 minutes one of the shoes already looks like this, is it something to be worried about? The creasing looks weird.


Not sure, I've seen a few pairs of these they are made by Magnanni and they have a natural tendency to do this. To the touch the leather feels dry.The finish of the shoes appears to dry out the leather which becomes very thirsty - so creaming/conditioning is needed excessively.

It's not good.

Perhaps others can share some advice on this.
