100% functional. The stitch straight into the topsole makes a strong, durable & relatively water-resistant welt. More durable and more water resistant than blake or goodyear.

The braided stitch goes straight into the insole. Again, a more durable construction than most methods. Does it need to be a braided stitch? Of course not. Does the Lobb Museum finish have any purpose other than cosmetic? Is it more durable or simply "beautiful"? Aren't we spending so much money on shoes BECAUSE we like the cosmetic aspects?

The norvegese is a combination of functionality + cosmetics. You might not like the cosmetics, but that is merely a matter of personal taste.

The idea that every member of Sf should have exactly the same tastes and opinions had never occurred to me. I see now that we should all buy and post the same shoes. We DEFINITELY wouldn't want to offend someone's gentle sensibilities by actually introducing something DIFFERENT!

I will be sure to applaud (of course with a grouping of the cute "emoticons" so popular with the 14 year old myspace crowd) every time I see the same JL or EG pics posted. I will also be sure to alert the proper authorities the next time someone decides to share something they enjoy, which may be different from the lemmings-like group-think which has permeated the majority.

Obviously not for working in the law office (maybe in Texas?), but I like 'em just the same. Most shoes I see use the belly skin of gator & croc, but these use the back skin instead.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

These are pretty badass. If I were Bilbo Baggins, these are the shoes I'd wear home after Smaug was killed.

I like that! Shoes you'd wear into battle... on middle earth no less.

PS: I have no excuse for totally understanding your reference & responding in kind.

They would be nice if they didn't have a uterus on the front and a fanny on the back!
