i might be wrong, but to my eye, the shape looks distinctly like Master Kiss' signature.

Fritzl,
The original heels have been removed.
The new heels are a bit shorter about 3/4 of a cm then what they were (offers a better balance to the shoe imo). And both heels are mor regular in their shape then they were before. The front part of the heel has more of a half moon shape than before. The orignal heel was made of different layers of leather with the top being some very hard rubber and a nailed heel tap. The new heel has different layers of leather, the one just before the top is made of rather thick soft rubber which is taken down to allow the top layer of leather to be placed while still leaving the rubber sole do its job at the outer rear of the heel as shown in this picture :




Don't take offense, many of my RTW shoes have been altered, like others have jackets and pants altered, I have my shoes altered to better fit or feel more confortable, but that's just because I'm a bit "a..." retentive.
Regarding the fit, the size is perfect and the shoes need to be broken in a bit.

I really didn't like the shape and way the heels were looking, so off they went.
I then took advantage to take off the the slightly burgundy looking edge-coating covering the edges and the soles.
A new heel has been made and put in place, the soles just got some uncolored protecting coating and for the edges I've used some dark brown coating. A screwed toe-tap has been added and the laces changed.
After some more hours of TLC (creaming, waxing and shining) that's what these full brogues in scotch grain look like.

I think you did well, I don't like the heels that come with usual paprika either. New heels and coated soles look great, nice shine on toes as well. Nice Paprika!

i have never done that before. i have a high ratio of original heels on all of my shoes. iirc, one or another rubber layer has been replaceed in all the years.

would you mind giving a benchmark

how difficult(for the cobbler, shoemaker, maitre bottier...) and costly this procedure is.

i'm pretty sure a lot of people find it interesting how they possible can "upgrade" their shoes.

Yes, the Exclusive will consist of 6 styles with a choice of colours. Rolled waist and channelled sole.

The Hand Grade will be the real top end stuff, consisting of 8 styles to start with, these will be MTO.

There is also the full MTO program which allows you to take any style and change it, so, you could take a country boot, change the colour, pattern, sole etc.

I know what you mean, I'll have to post to pictures of them being worn, as the sharpness of the lines is lost on the wingtip once they're being worn, if that makes sense.

Groover, could you comment on the fit of the various new AS lasts, i.e. do you wear the same size in all of them? How do those compare with the 99 and 87?

Will do, Onix. I'll take advantague of the vague wording though, and just take a picture of my current shoes [Black Sebagos that have known no special care and worn everyday, with a norwegian front, rubber soles, in what seems to be nappa leather], but post said pictures a year from now.

I haven't, actually. Well, not in England anyway. But I did just receive a pair of Operation Paprika shoes from Fritzl in the mail. Very different from English shoes, but also quite nice.

It is very easy, every learned cobbler or shoe-maker should be able to change/make a new heel. I am not sure what the price tag should be, but I imagine that just that operation would be worth somewhere between 30 and 40 Euros.
Alas, the comment about it being easy is, imo, only worth if one leaves in Europe. From my experience, good cobblers are difficult to find in the US and Asia.
