Whatever it is, it ain't very becoming.

Anyway it is a tasteful accomplished collection, worthy of much praise and of course it getting even better.

Also, black wholecut is the best black shoe imo as well. Do you know what brand/last you would go with that? Vass, Bestetti maybe? Oh, and what color are your Austerity Brogues? Is that antique cognac with italian polish? Thanks for posting!

I think I've said it before but the Jon Keilman bespoke last looks the best with Bestetti not far behind. G&G lasts looks way too edgy compare to C&J and Carmina is just pedestrian.

Thanks a lot everyone!

Regarding the toe stiffener on the J. fitzPatrick shoes it's due to the leather being very soft, which makes the puff, which is also very short, show that way. I think it would be useful with some extra lining material in the front to avoid this. Don't know if It's something Justin already addressed, these are from the first series of shoes made for his brand.

As for black wholecut, I'm leaning towards a Vass K-last version, but nothing settled yet.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this.

Assistance required, if you have the time?

I have these -

I tried these today, they are being saved for me

Are they too similar?

Plainly not to the discerning eye but is this too close an acquisition to put into a rota, just because a) I love shoes and b) I love shoes?

Thanks in advance

Flip a coin; the side you hope to get is what you should do. However, I want to try so many different styles regarding shoes that I would need a lot before having two pairs of black dub-monks.
Cleav, those would be too close to a duplication for me. But that's me. Buying shoes that I love is always my first purchase criterion, but I don't let love lead me to buy two or three of (close to) the same pair.

Generally, I only duplicate when the existing pair is being upgraded and retired, given away, or sold.

The only rationale for owning both is pair you are thinking about purchasing would go well with suits being that they are more elegant and the pair you own is great with odd slacks.

But I probably would not duplicate if there are other areas if need in the shoedrobe.

Thanks Euro, I think you've put that very well. Though the EGs are sleek enough.
