It's called "Tobacco Chamois". They'd be great with tweed! Maybe even a whole donegal suit.

Hehe. Just do it! And how about some grey flannel with them?

let's see how it turns out. the ritter sport analogy is not bad, btw.

after my chat with mr. petkov today, i'm not sure I want to talk about shoes anymore. if I understood him correctly. shomaking is a simple task, which requires a lot of skill. strange, but true. he's a protagonist of the "holzgenagelt" method and it makes a lot of sense.

you should try to see him in Vienna, but I'm afraid he is on holiday on your actual vistiting date.

Parker - good stuff there! What size/width/last did you get for the Dover? I'm always tempted by that shoe.

Lovely shoes Parker ... Love 'em both. I have the alden chukka in sand suede (with crepe soles). They get a lot of wear. I'll get the darker color this fall. Are your chukkas unlined with flex-welt sole?

Duly noted and the cabal thanks you for bringing this to your attention.

Parker, we hereby issue a cease-and-desist on the granny knot. You will be watched for future refractions.

For me, it is the perfect shoe for 90% of all occasions.

Thank the cabal for the quick response. (Gonna look up that word in the dictionary now.)

Well, that's obvious by the big "˜42'. The lasts started off as a commercial last in size 42 (8 ½ English).

It's fair to presume, the lasts have been altered to conform to the customer's measurements.
