Don't do it. Save your pennies and get the Alden. Much nicer, better constructed shoe, imo.

From left
Crockett Jones: Adelaide semi-brogues (archive model, on the new last 367)
Edward Green: Punched cap toes (archive model, on last 808)
Anthony Cleverley: `Churchill` side-elastics in black/white monotone
Enzo Bonafe: Full Brogues in doublesole

The metal eyelets on the CJ and the EG .... I think they look quite good
and that AC lazyman...wow!

I personally hate metal eyelets. I think the shape of the Bonafe is the best looking one out of the bunch.

Thanks! I actually bought these lightly used so I don't really know when the former owner got them. But judging from the EG "serial number" and maker labels, I would probably say that they were made about 5 years ago or so.

As to my knowledge, EG nowadays only offer the Dover on the 202, 606 and 82 - even when doing an MTO.

Thanks guys!

Since my last cross post was so well received, I thought I would continue on the same note. So here's another post from the EG thread. This time of my recently purchased EG Inverness' in dark oak, on the 888 last and in F width. Almost straight out of the box - after some reno, cream and polish - and never worn. Enjoy and have a nice Saturday!

Very nice as well, although I think I would have personally chosen burgundy instead.

Yup, burgundy is also a very nice make up, but a little less versatile IMO. Thats why I finally went with the dark oak, which is probably one of the most versatile browns in my experience.

I find burgundy.more versatile than dark brown, but that might just be a personal preference. As to Dover on 82 I was told by Leffot that EG would not offer 82 as an option even for MTO, that was couple days ago

I am not sure that burgundy would work so well with lighter colored pants like tan, khaki, cream and stone. But, as you said, this is probably mor a question of personal preference.

Ok, so the only options available are the 606 and 202 then?
606 definitely, didn't ask for 202 so not sure about that part

I hate burgundy shoes unless it is shell. They always look kinda cheap, unless they are more of a brown/maroon.
