bengal-stripe: do you have the scoop on the usual specs of British private label footwear? Herring, for one, has mentioned that they use better leathers on their Loake-made pairs than what the factory usually goes for.

Stunning.

 

I like the look of that leather a lot. It seems to have some texture to it. 

 

These rival the St Crispin version for me. And at 850Euro, more affordable too.
