nephew,
we are all family on this thread, I have no issue with soliciting charitable contribution for a worthy organization

Mimo, would you mind donating $3 for pB's new shoe fund?

Certainly,  please contact my friend in Lagos, Professor Dr Reverend Winston Beckham John QC OBE, with bank details. :)

I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere, but I'm not clever enough to find it.

You're in a sour mood today, PB.  Why don't you make a charitable donation to restore your inner balance? :)

I'm sorry for the digressions.  I did actually buy new shoes today but they're sneakers and I'm ashamed.

Do you have a clipboard? In NYC one is required to be holding a clipboard to ask for donations.

I bought jeans on Saturday. First pair in years. They are black too, very un-MC friendly.

I am not in NYC, and you can't see what I'm holding.  Congratulations on the jeans. :)

What last is that?  They do look quite long and narrow; is the toe very extended and did you have to size up?

199 Last.  It is a fairly narrow last.  I did not size up and the fit is good, but very snug.  After a full day of wear, the fit is comfortable, but it is close to being too small.  As a reference, my foot is approximately an E width.

This reference guide is very helpful on their site:
