Shoe Damage Report & Shoe P0rn Central - Part II - Page 1059

Dumb question that I think I know the answer... could this have been caused by not enough rest between wearings? I was trying to get some aging by wearing them almost every day for the last three months.

I think once or twice in a while does no harm. But everyday for the season is a bit tough. For any shoe that will be the same.

Yup, wearing shoes daily, combined with soles that may not have been too durable, will amount to thatch wear. Get a resole and wearable every other day the next time around. smile.gif

^ Very nice. I really liked the line-up. Reminds me I have to place an order.

X-post from the Rock Your Socks Thread. My new MTM shoes from Shanghai Tianzi Shoes (forgive the crummy self-taken smartphone pic):

Very nice. Not Italian quality antiquing but I bet you paid a whole lot less?

nope.

a few hours to breathe while you're sleeping should be plenty to get rid of the residual humidity.

The cause is poor sole leather and/or insufficient tanning.

Get them resoled with some better leather.

Interesting and disappointing as these are $650 boots from a well known maker.

Ask for no "antiquing" next time. Most antiquing looks like shit drizzled.

Unless its 3 months of raining season, sole shouldn't wear out that fast. Even my good old glued Prada and Miu Miu lasted years before resole.

Edit: correction. Even 3 months of raining season and daily west the sole should still survive. Maybe you hiked miles in those shoes in raining weather and rough terrain?

Thanks but I like it as is. I realise it's not the greatest antiquing, but I didn't expect that for $221. I like the way it looks all the same, it didn't cost the Earth and it fits me very well. That's enough for me.

Nope, just a couple of miles a day on the streets of SF. Were you wearing your Prada and Miu Miu everyday or rotating them?

What's the leather quality like?
