Algonquin has been around for a loooong time! See this 1937 advertisement by Nettleton.

Nice, I'm actually waiting for my black ones to arrive.

Should be here on Saturday.

By the way, how do you like them?

They're amazing! Only concern is that I'm trying to "shoehorn" myself into a model that's not suited to my feet.

I usually wear a 9G in mainline C&J.

Since CJ for Peal shoes only come in D-width, I sized up to a 10.5D.

Both have similar length measurements (12.25 x 4.35 inches), but the Peals have a narrower waist, and thus feel tighter. About 0.25 inches narrower.

I typically wear a 11.5D, but in this case I ordered both the 11.5 D and 11.5E just in case.

Based on what you've said, I'm glad I ordered the 11.5E as well.

If I recall correctly, that eccentric pair was made from elephant ear and calf. Isshi is the winner!
