Thanks for the input guys regarding the toe taps. I like the idea of the brass pins as my local cobbler can do it and probably costs a couple of bucks, this without comprising the safety and comfort.

B. Nelson would be an option if a) I lived in NYC or b) shoes in question weren't $1k+. That nick guy can be so off putting. What if the boots get lost in the mail?!

Yep, don't get to wear them often either. The car ford is pretty slick, IMO without being over the top. Shoe has great balance and I really like he sleek dainite sole. The red elastic is a bit much though
