BRAVO, your 1st post and hit bull's-eye icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

It's camel from deserts of Abu Dhabi used by Corthay on Arca. So soft I had to go half size down in pullman

Also used in Emirates first class seats, with fire resistant treatment

Crat, is that a new meme on SF? Great work with that polishing hand of yours.

Ah, well. I have a pair of black camel RM Williams Blaxland and thought I recognized the pattern of the follicles. Amazing leather though. Really tough with an interesting surface and really not that expensive.

Cool, post a pic of your Blaxlands when you have time, what other shoes you have?

Very nice. Would prefer them in a slightly darker brown.

Cross-posting from the Meermin thread:

Meermin MTO Norvegese: three-eyelet wholecut in burgundy naturcalf, Hiro last, vanity sole initials, double leather sole, purple lining, flush steel toe guards, natural-coloured welt, light brown stitching.

The uppers have stretch marks right above the toes, Pepe informed me these are only on the surface finish. He said they should vanish with some hair blower treatment, the leather should then absorb the finishing. I've yet to try this, wel'll see how it goes. The marks are ugly, but not visible from a metre away. The Norvegese stitching is very straight and neatly done, it only swerves ½ cm on the toes. I'm especially pleased with the tiny welt, too many Norvegese pairs end up as monster shoes due to large welts.

For their price, Meermin offers a lot of shoe.
