Thanks! Looks like I hit the spot with these ones and nice to have my feelings about them validated by forumites.

Honestly, though, I'm not a one percenter (yet). Anyone can fly in F with a little dedication to learning how to amass and utilize miles and points.

Yowza,

I've flown a fair amount of first class, long haul flights. (Client reimbursible travel - not my money for goodness sake.) Couldn't say that I've ever been taken to the plane and escorted in privately however.

This must be a new Lufthansa First Class service?

meister, you've found a superb pair. Back in the days an unfinished welt surface with white stitching was a norm. This is something that brings a wholly different look to any pair. I do my best for a revival by choosing it on all MTO pairs.

Nothing says "new" better. (also prevents staining of the upper on light coloured vamps)

Just wrote a review on Cheaney's Imperial oxford pair. To make a long story short, Imperial line offers plenty of shoe for their price. Oak-bark soles, fiddback waists, delightful lining, strong support and an aggresive, petite last for around 350£ a pair.

Model Buckingham, last 208. The pair is a reject due to failed waists, but the examples I've seen on A-grade pairs are enough to convince me.
