I'm saying that some of the OTT norwegese stitched italian shoes - which are often on square-ish toed lasts and feature burnished/interesting leather - stand out significantly when worn with, say, a navy suit. Nothing wrong with that, just that if i'm going to be wearing a formal suit i'd want things to be a bit more coherent.
I prefer these types of shoes with more casual clothes, where I think they can blend in a bit more easily - keeping in mind I wear camo print, purple corduroy, olive tweed, oxidised copper coloured pants casually.
I'm not the biggest fan of antiquing, personally. I prefer to just let it happen naturally.
