I have contacted Bontoni about it recently but they have not replied. This is probably the best looking shoe I have ever seen in my life, it is simply exquisite!
What do you think?

Stanley Korshaks don't have them.... http://www.stanleykorshak.com/infostore/ca.cart.asp?maincat=Men%27s&subcat=&designercat=Bontoni&colorcat=&type=list&Page=1

Actually, that's the Bentivegna. The strip of leather that's being stitched into the upper is the welt. Norvegese is un-welted, ie: upper sewn straight down into the topsole. side stitch in Norv is optional.

It was that Bentivegna welt that made ms suspect SL. Bentivegna is only done that finely by Santoni Ltd Ed & Lattanzi. I haven't even scrolled down to see if you have posted more and I'm ALREADY requesting more. IMO a Holy Grail of Shell shoes, Spoo. Awesome kop... something I expect from you, my friend.

that pair was true norvegese. The story continues as they were re-sold by the Father of an SF'er for a cupla $K.

if so, a proper Lattanzi re-sole is required.

Very, very insightful, thank you! Sadly, not mine but from someone to sell. Heres another shot of the workmanship :

IN-MF'IN-SANE!!!! What's your impression of the shell? The workmanship is classic Lattanzi, but how are the materials? Would you guess Horween?

BTW: so strange (and wonderful) you would post these today. I have the derby version of these...

and pics are forthcoming.

The shell is some of the nicest I have seen. Im not sure of the provenance (Horween or not) but the marbling and depth of color is amazing. They weigh a ton too, you can kick some serious ass in these. Also, great article! 80 pairs!! Jeeeeez...
