To each their own - but I much prefer it without this affectation.

Conversely, I love antiqued shoes. So you'll get no logic here. Just personal tastes. YMMV.

This is what I think of when I think of Stingray (Shagreen). It can be incredibly subtle and varied when expertly tanned and processed.
