I'm with you on this one.

Yes I appreciate that it takes time and craftsmenship to create a beautiful sole. But I can't figure out why it matters once they have been worn a few times. At that point the beauty is more or less destroyed. And besides who looks at the soles of the their shoes anyway?

But I do admire the beautifully sculpted soles as works of craftsmenship.

There are some of us who purchase two of the same shoe; one for wearing, and one for leering.

I guess it's a 1% thing.

Ordered a pair of Grenson Radley's (old Rose collection) from their site

But received these instead:

They look nice and are of better quality (Masterpiece collection) but I'm returning them since the E width is just too tight for me.

I find it strange how they could have made the mistake by putting the wrong shoes in the box although the SKU inside the shoes do match with the SKU on the box (but not to the SKU on my bill which is Radley Size 8 Colour Cognac 6647-17-8).

The ways of the 1% are a mystery to us mere mortals.

Tried that before with a different pair of shoes but in the end the result wasn't satisfactory. I learned it's best to get shoes that fit properly from the start and get rid of the ones that don't.

I know that I have already posted a few of the teaser pics which Chay sent me, but I would like to share the story of these shoes with you. Earlier in the year, Chay and I were discussing different styles of shoes and things we thought could be cool or interesting. In a series of quick e-mails Chay and I talked about the Benson and the legacy of the shoe. I love the look, but wanted something slightly different. Chay suggested a dark "pin grain" and low and behold the final product exceeded my expectations. I love this type of Monk because it truly captures a vintage feel wtihout appearing dated or costumey. Lovely design and wonderfully executed. Thanks, Chay.
