as to polluting this thread - the epic scale of the Isshy/Nore debate has set a precident for thread pollution on a scale so vast we will never have the fortitude to challenge it.

And at least we're providing enlightened entertainment to the teeming masses of readers with no lives of their own.

Back then shoemakers everywhere were keen on making oxblood or ruddy brown shoes. UK makers sadly have forgot this colour IMHO. Thx for posting.

quite true about the colors. Many vintage colors are simply not seen anymore. The reds were beautiful.
