PB I am with you. I hate the topys and I have never had a problem with the metal toe covers on the front of the shoe scratching the floor. Ocassionally, by accident, they scratch the front of my bosses desk. sneaky2.gif

I would have to agree with that, Spoo. However, I am hoping he doesn't check out some of the slice marks. smile.gif

Your taste in footwear is different than mine and in my 60+ years on this earth, I've developed an eclectic taste that is all my own. Some Eastern European bespoke, some US bespoke, some flip flops, and a variety in between. You made a comment about the "esthetics" of Alden 405s, and I made a return comment. That's all. Enjoy your shoes and your tastes and I'll enjoy mine. Carry on.

pics of US bespoke very welcome -  love to see some of Vogel's work e.g.

I have a question. If it is a Wednesday and really humid, is it ok to use lasted shoe trees? Because the leather should be a bit swollen due to the moisture in the air and it might stretch out the shoes too much. Of course, if there is percipitation in the air on a Wendesday one shouldn't use trees at all, however if it is a Saturday during the winter, the dryness would require the use of lasted trees, correct? But, what about if the axis of the earth is changing like in spring and it is a Friday and not humid yet like in August, should I use lasted or regular trees, if regular how tight should they be that the dryness won't crack the leather, or over stretch the shoe? confused.gif

Model is the Belphegor - A Ghillie version of the Arca.

They have a nice style selection (about 8 styles including a black Arca with red piping accents; an Arca monk; an Arca ankle boot; an Arca Chelsea boot)
