I refuse to submit. Today I'm wearing cordovan wingtips--and a brown tweed jacket. In town. Screw 'em, I say.

C&J Westbourne. Much better looking in colours other than black (especially acajou, which is a very bright red!), but everyone needs one black shoe, so this is mine.

Thank you! The shape of the Tetbury is a little less forgiving than the rest of the 348 line because the dainite sole requires a wider welt, which pushes the sole edge outward and accentuates the squareness of the toe. It's consequently not great with suits, but looks wonderful with jeans or more casual (linen, cotton) pants.

348 last. I find the 360 looks very pointy, even though its sleekness is unparalleled. French shoes are either rubbish quality or painfully expensive.

Yes, this is the famous OneLast collection.

I might consider adding something in suede one day, but I'm in no hurry. It's extremely versatile and it was very easy to buy everything I needed online at huge discount once I knew my size. I still have some old beaters that I wear in the rain, but that's it.

I thought so, but wasn't sure. I approve of this as your one black shoe.
