Listen, forget about it...

If you can't see the point I was making , it doesn't matter...

Being at war over territories is different than ethnic cleansing even if the 1947 partition saw some quite nasty euptions of killings.

You replied to my question anyway...

Lasbar,

As an American of German decent, I understand your comment.

This entire conversation is particularly interesting to me b/c I had an African American kid in my high school class who frequently wore the Confederate Flag on his clothing (this was in the mid nineties). I asked him why he chose to do that. He said for two reasons:

1. He was from the South, and loved the South.
2. He knew it pissed off the racists.

I thought it was interesting. He kept it up, too.

It is sad to see that old wounds have not healed yet...

My German colleague ,she is 50, talks openly about the need for the German people to remember and to accept the past...

She is worried selective history memory is very present in the young Germans psyche fed up with being associated to Adolf..

I understand that .

Every country has done atrocies at one point of their histories...

Do you think Charlemagne, William the Conqueror,Louis XIV or Napoleon were not involved in any genocide?

It is important to remember and not forget to forgive...

If you ask my Jewish mates if they will wear that jacket ,I can tell you their responses will be very short and they do not hate German people..

German army jackets were popular around these parts in the early 90s (and as we were kids at the time the trend must certainly have been around for a while before we started wearing them). I'm surprised it passed lasbar by, unless he's very young.

It took long enough for someone to point that out. He must have 10+ years on Elkann.

Looking at it again it isn't. What's a Russell Plaid? It's one of the greatest Tweed patterns in the universe. A legend, only those with balls of steel need apply. Here:

On a well cut suit it's superb, but not for the faint of heart as was said!

Partly, but mostly the feminine cut (comically tight, high-buttoning, short.)
