^ It's the whitening of the knuckles that takes it from mere pose and into creepy intent. Good find.

I really like the tweed double breasted SC and the moleskin trousers.  I'm not crazy about the boots.

Cool and casual.  I dig it.

I wasn't being serious.

It is incredibly bad.

Looks absolutely fine. Is it because you are programmed to react viscerally to little embroidered polo players?

Seems far better than the double breasted pugilist or mustachioed wax sculpture posted upthread.

Are we looking at the same photo?

And, as an aside, one thing can be better than another and they can both still suck.

I like the official looking building behind him, not his get-up.

What's the trouble, dear?

My basis for judging was not that it merely is more passable than the other ones.

It's a super duper casual outfit, not much thought was wasted on it (well...maybe -- see below), but it still seems inviting and friendly.

Is the shirt pattern too autumnal?

Is the polo player too gauche?

Is the bluey-blue denim "sportcoat" too declassé?

This seems irrelevant. It looks like something comfortable and sporty to wear when plonking around the garden.

I guess the case could be made that he picked those items very deliberately, for a photo shoot no less...! But nevermind the intention, how about the execution?

As something transferable to our own circumstances, a checked BD and a frumpy denim chore jacket seem well within the bounds of reason. I like that they have a bit of color.

I'm not sure what the outfit is being compared to. Obviously it can't be objectively bad, so you must be comparing it to some hypothetical situation where he wears a different shirt and a different coat. But why do this?

If he had dark hair, the look would be much better. As is, too much focus goes to the tweed and the light-colored pants.
