I don't know about that analogy. I think it supports me in that skewed knots are dreads and those who wore them sincerely were Bobs. So the white kids who wear dreads are not cool but Bob will always be cool because he was genuine whereas the white kids with dreads are just following a fashion.

The pink cardigan is inapposite for this combination; a purple cardigan can be a great alternative, IMHO.

Personally, I'd prefer a cardigan/vest in a darker colour, such as maroon or a mid- or darker blue.
However, it's worth remembering that Ethan is at Pitti in Florence at present.
Therefore, compared to some of the peacocks there, a pink cardigan/vest and a slightly askew tie knot are extremely conservative!

The tie askew is an affectation, but the tie itself is an affectation. While I don't care for it, it's just another way to tie a tie.

Unbuckled monkstraps, however, are objectively goofy. The strap and buckle are functional; it's the footwear equivalent of leaving your fly unzipped. If that's your thing, whatever, but...

He really needs to unbutton that top button, though.

Maybe they're mining the middle ground between typical FIH knots, neckerchiefs, and ascots. Innovators!
