I don't think that the person who posted the photo is the same person who is in the photo.

Also, I think that the criticism was because people felt that the young man in the photo had mashed together a lot of sartorial trends, and that the result was a bit overwhelming - sock less loafers, in navy suede no less, surgeon's cuffs with most of the buttons undone on one side but mostly done up on the other, "side by side" knot on the necktie and so on. It all looks a bit too forced, instead of effortlessly stylish.
