He doesn't get hate on my part because I don't know who he was in the first place..

The combo didn't look great, that's it...

Nothing personal in that..

If you do not want to be criticized ,do not pictures on a style forum..

I think you look fantastic. I can't believe how much cattiness and pomposity there is on this forum.

I don't think that the person who posted the photo is the same person who is in the photo.

Also, I think that the criticism was because people felt that the young man in the photo had mashed together a lot of sartorial trends, and that the result was a bit overwhelming - sock less loafers, in navy suede no less, surgeon's cuffs with most of the buttons undone on one side but mostly done up on the other, "side by side" knot on the necktie and so on. It all looks a bit too forced, instead of effortlessly stylish.

A certain amount of cattiness comes with the territory. You have to figure that any guy who is really into clothes is at least 30% chick.

It's kind of funny to see the pendulum swing within a single thread. Someone goes too far in a dumb criticism, gets called out and then everyone is obsequiously contrite for a few pages until they do it all again.

I think Ethan always looks good. Though that back photo is a little odd.

I think the photo you just posted looks silly and looks silly in a predictable, namely dressed-by-style-blogs, sort of way. That's a fairly defensible aesthetic judgment. And, at any rate, not all criticisms are personal.
