I disagree with all of the above, but I will agree that his outfit is bad.

Probably not pretentious but certainly a few too many gimmicks going on.

It's a quilted down-filled sport coat. I'm pretty sure he doesn't need an additional overcoat.

A sport coat or jacket as we call them over here is NOT an overcoat, so it wouldn't be an additional overcoat.
