Fainted today...

This was not a fun experience. I've had the flu for the last couple days and was picking up some food at a take-out place half a block down...line was about 15 minutes long and I started getting agitated and feeling weak. My vision got blurry, I blacked out and next thing I knew I was on the ground. Felt dream-like...too bad it wasn't. Went to the hospital and docs determined it was a combination of standing for a while, being dehydrated and having a viral infection.

Anyone else ever have a random fainting episode?

Today I nearly fainted while in the shower.

I've never fainted but I had someone do the same thing you did except they fell on me.

I was standing in line at a buffet and the next thing I know, I felt someone (or something) fall against me and start pushing me. I turned to find a girl had passed out and fallen into me. I put my tray down and helped her to a chair. She seemed to come out of it and then just proceeded to eat with her friend.

I passed out last Christmas morning while on the bike trail... I guess it was the combination of 3 cocktails the night before, sleeping late, the hot weather that day and my lack of hydration. all I remember was biking then the next thing I knew I was lying on my left side, bleeding on one ear and being disoriented for a few minutes.

never known to. I mean, closest I get is passing out hard about every weekend but i blame the G&Ts for that

I was at the gym about 6 months ago and this dude collapsed right behind me onto the wall. I hopped off the eliptical and flashed back 10 years ago to my lifeguard days. Keeping him calm and calling 911. Dude had no idea what happened it was weird.

That's happened to me before while standing in line. Combination of low blood pressure, lack of fresh air and little food that day.

Once I got out of bed to go to the bathroom, took a piss, and then found myself lying on the floor against the shower curtain. I picked myself up and went back to bed. When I woke up a few hours later, I realized my pillow cover was covered in blood! Then I ran to the bathroom mirror and found that my entire face was covered in blood!

Seems that when I had fainted, my chin had hit the edge of the counter leaving a half-inch long and quarter-inch deep cut. I ended up getting stitches, and to this day there's a spot under my chin where no hair grows.

This wasn't a normal occurance. Most likely it was attributable to the combination of being on Seroqel at the time and having been drinking the night before.

Really, I was lucky though; I could have very easily sliced my neck open or bashed up my face-- my modelling career would have been ruined!

It's good you didn't hurt yourself when you fell. Glad everything is now okay.

Happened to me twice. One time I had a viral infection after Basketball practice and after coming home I ate and went to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I'm on fire and went to the bathroom to splash myself with water from the sink. Next thing I know I'm waking up in the tub. The other was after a 4 day music festival that's in another city. I was in the train on the way home, standing and talking to a friend. I didn't notice that I was tired or anything. They say I just collapsed. Was very weird.

I thought the thread title was "farted today." That's happened to me before, once or twice, but I've never fainted.
