Help on suit size!

Ok, so this is my first post. I am a 17 year old kid, and I wanted to try a slim fit suit, thought you all should know that before you began to tear apart the fit haha. All joking aside is this too slim? http://picasaweb.google.com/100350992425534497137

Yes. A bit of pulling at the button is probably to be expected with an OTR 'slim' suit but imo there is too much. The main problem though is the length, the jacket is at least an inch shorter than even a modern-looking one should be.

This exactly.

Welcome to the forum - it's nice to see a young person (or anyone, for that matter) care about how they look, especially in fit. Do lots of lurking around, you'll learn a great deal.

I tried on a size bigger and was not at all comfortable with the length. Maybe its just because im young and everything I wear is fitted. Im just wondering if its like "hey that is a little small" or "Wow, that jacket is absolutely ridiculous looking, he is a fool".

Well, I don't have any problem with jackets that are a bit shorter, as is the trend. But this one is really pushing the limits, and just looks "too short" to me.

OK. i get that the jackets a little short. Is it permissible for just one wedding? Or is it really that bad.
It's close, but I wouldn't push it.

Well it's your call of course. If most at (and in) the wedding are "fashion forward" type of people, maybe you can pull it off.

Thats up to you. Some at the wedding will likely think is is entirely too small, but in reality, you'll probably look better than most of the slobbishly dressed beople there.

It would take several additional inches just to cover your butt, which is the minimum length requirement..

With dress trousers, there's a difference between slim fitting and plain old tight.

Yes, this. A jacket should be just long enough to cover you butt. A little more length is acceptable and can be considered more conservative but the jacket in the picture, as-is, is runway cartoonishly short IMHO.
