I'm John L. from the french forum "En grande pompe". Here are my new AS boots. Hope you'll like tem...
While on the subject, there are a handful of SF members on a MTO with AS for a boot very similar to this:
-Miller style so the side panel is straight
-AS Exclusive construction
-Uppers will be made with Horween cognac shell cordovan
-Shaft will be made with dark brown pebble grain
I love the fact that Chay sends me advance pictures of the shoes as they are being made, but the wait really is getting to be too much to bear. Another pair just finishied - shp them Chay!! They are beautiful. Back to the boar's head medallion.
More pics when they arrive. Edited by Burton - 6/25/12 at 10:49am
^^^My post was not intended to be a knock on anyone. Chay has done well by me and I had a bad turn of a phrase (which I have edited). My point was that once you see the pictures of the shoes you can't wait to get them on your feet. Chay is making several pair for me and we agreed to delay shipment until they could all be sent at once. One pair was done a bit ago and then these are ready now. I am thrilled with how they look can't wait to get them on my feet.
On the second pair, I am not even sure AS has a model name for those. Chay just made me something I requested from pics of a different shoe. Lovely.
Very nice, B. My jealousy of your shoes got the better of me, so I asked Chay how my stuff was coming. He sent me a picture of my boot uppers:
They're basically the Holburn boot, but substantially higher, in shell cordovan, with a bellows tongue and dainite sole. Should be the ideal motorcycling boot. I've asked Chay to switch the top hooks for eyelets and the two sets of eyelets below the hooks for hooks. It would make them a little quicker on/off when in a rush, which I always am. I'm really grateful to Chay and the rest of AS for being so flexible about these details. Can't wait to get them and wear them on a long ride in the rain.
