I suggest you avoid staying downtown. If you must, stay on the strip and take a cab there to visit for a few hours because that's all it will take to take it all in. for 150-200/night, you can stay almost anywhere. I suggest checking out the Venetian, Aria, Mirage, or Mandalay Bay. The Mac King comedy magic show is pretty good and also funny. It's a cheaper show aimed for families, but I still had a good time. It's located at Harrah's, which is on the strip and a short walk from the Venetian The Bank (nightclub) inside of the Bellagio plays House music so that could be a decent change from the usual hip-hop music. And it's a good environment to use your supplements. Something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNiM6...rom=PL&index=1 Also, all casinos have the same games. The only difference between them are minimum bet sizes (nicer places have higher minimum bet requirements) and overall atmosphere of the casino. Blackjack is an easy game. Roulette also.

That's not 100% true. For example, only a few casinos offer european roulette (only 1 zero) which has much better odds. Also, craps odds multipliers are different at different places (downtown you can find $5 w/ 100x odds, which is a MUCH better game than $10 or $15 @ 5-4-3x odds that you find on the strip. Same goes with payout schedules on vid-poker. Some casinos have 1-deck bj at 3-2 black jack, others are 6-5 or 1-1. Some have surrender, othres don't. Some have dealer stands on soft 17 , others don't. It's really worth checking out Wizardofodds.com to see where to play.

Bacon martinis at the Double Down Saloon. Just read the Yelp reviews: http://www.yelp.com/biz/double-down-saloon-las-vegas It's not for everybody, but I had a good time.

Unless your Amish, Quaker, or have spent your whole life in a fundamentalist Mormon compound, you and your gf sound like fucking idiots. I picture you as dirty, try hard, hippy trustafarians.

The Golden Nugget pool apparently cost $30,000,000. That's thirty-million-dollars. It's like 3 stories tall. With sharks. That's an effing pool.

yes. the nugget's pool is very cool. they have completely overhauled the hotel. i stayed there (not by my choice) last year it was very surprised at how nice it was. the only bad thing staying downtown is that there isn't much to see or do besides gambling, so i inevitably spent way more than i normally do gambling.

if i go for a weekend, i like staying on the strip, but gaming downtown. i can afford the higher mins on the strip, but the payouts/odds are nicer downtown. i'll gladly take a $5 min with 10x odds on craps over $20 min with 3x4x5x.

Does anybody remember the reality show where the guys that started travelocity.com bought the Nugget? That was a fun show, even if they failed miserably at running a casino.

It was called the Casino (although I think the guys started travelscape.com, which is now expedia.com). I also liked American Casino about the Green Valley Ranch.

BTW - I think the new Aria hotel and casino are having some good deals for under $150/night. I haven't been, so I can't speak first hand (I usually stay/play at The Hotel).

You're probably right about the Casino show guys. And I loved the GVR show too... so sad how the ops manager died. I think that's why they did not make another season.

I forgot that happened. Good memory!
