I've been slowly paring down my non-business wardrobe, not sure if I can fit under $5000 but it's fun to take an inventory sometime - been organizing like this. I have more crap, but this is the "essentials" for me:

Seasonal outerwear - 2 pieces per season
Winter: Junya Watanabe/Duvetica down jacket, heavy wool coat (still looking!)
Fall: Margiela 5-zip leather, Lad Musician MA-1
Spring: Miharayasuhiro floral M-65, Paul Harnden long jacket
Summer: CdG linen blazer, Robert Geller linen field coat

Knitwear - 3 heavy, 2 light
Heavy: Margiela cardigan, SNS turtleneck, SNS crewneck
Light: Ann D mohair knit, cotton crewneck (still looking!)

Pants - 3 jeans, 2 trousers, 2 summer
Tight black denim (KK Attachment)
Tight blue denim (Jun Hashimoto)
Straight blue denim (Margiela)
Winter wool trousers (Nonnative)
Spring trousers (Still looking!)
Summer cropped linen pants (Nonnative)
Summer shorts (Muji)

Shirts (5 or so options), sweats (one crewneck, one hoodie), basics (whatever you need based on laundry!!)
Denim shirt (Geller)
Plaid shirt (Geller)
Cotton button-up (Muji)
White oxford (Uni-qlo)
Plaid shirt jacket (Jun Hashimoto)
Crewneck sweatshirt (Geller dip-dye)
Hoodie (Wings + Horns)
5x heattech shirts for winter
3x American Apparel tri-blend shirts for summer
3x Uni-qlo waffle shirts for spring/fall

Shoes - Three boots, one shoe, two sneakers
Guidi brown back-zips
Guidi black lace-ups
Jun Hashimoto black back-zips
White boots (still looking!)
Jun Hashimoto brown derbies
Margiela white GAT low-tops
Common Projects white hi-tops

"Dressy casual"
Grey Cloak suit
Black Kimseoryong suit
Black Alden boots

Boring essentials
Wings + Horns sweatpants
Rick Owens cropped sweatpants

Im sure we can come up with a solid list.

For example I would replace the diesel jeans with some APC's for around the same price.

There is absolutely no way I could have a wardrobe I was happy with for £5,000, let alone $5,000!

I try to set an annual budget of £2,500, but last year I blew it totally and in 2014 I'm already up to my budget, and it's only April!smile.gif

Do you need to post about everything you do in 5 threads? I can assure you that nobody cares.

Not sure about the new models, my old ones are holding up fine. To be honest I'm not even sure I bought clothes in 2014.

I've spent up to my 2014 budget and am hoping not to need new clothes in 2015, as I'm on a 2 year clothing ban until 3rd May 2016!smile.gif

Trying to complete a good and versatile wardrobe. Super tight budget.

Outerwear:
Uniqlo Parka: 60$
Uniqlo fleece x2: 40$

Shirts:
Uniqlo x 3: 90 flannels

Tees: Hanesx5: 30-40

Bottoms:
Gap Chinos: 60
Gap jeansx2: 60
Asos sweatpants: 40
508s: 50
H&M Shorts 17.

Footwear:
Vansx2 : 90
Buttero Mids: 300
CP Officer Boots: 400?

Any suggestions?

your shoe prices are out of whack. instead of $400 for cp officer boots, get some MOMAs for $150 from yoox.

Are you trying to make this happen quickly? Because that whole "fast, cheap, good—pick two" thing. If you have time/energy, you could do better and still keep it cheap.

If you just want basic, functional stuff that fits you, I guess that works, though it sounds pretty boring.

Everyone should cut and paste this list...

I love how in Nicelys world, a Bless Hoodcoat, Schneider merino, Rick leather, et al are considered non-essentials.

I Admit I am a bit impatient. So yes.
