I'm pretty strong on my skates, but would like to become as close to impossible to knock off the puck as I can. What do you guys recommend...I assume focusing on core activities, but does anyone know anything specifically that I can do? Thanks.

The solution is to hit first: It's a shame Oshie isn't have a great year for my hometown team. Eating whatever Ryan Miller ate Sunday morning can't hurt either .

Hi,

Have you read stuff by Mike Boyle? He has worked with lots of hockey players and his book "Functional Training for Sports" has a training routine for hockey players.

I think you play more than me NYR, but my experience is that if you can't get knocked over and can skate well, then your lower body isn't bad. I usually find that it's the one handed stuff that puts me off the puck, but I'm 6'0 and 150+ish. I only have a wrist shot and can get out of the way of hits...a very different angle compared to you .

I'd start with a 5x5 program (madcow, starting strength) which has an emphasis on legs and midline stablization.
