It struck me as a good balance between "classic" english country house design and mediteranian/local influences, so it didn't look ridiculous in its setting. Worth a visit if you are near San Fransisco.


Exceptional house; represents the best of the eclectic beaux arts tradition. The interiors are outstanding, too. Using as the setting for Harold and Maude.
