Andrew Koenig Missing in Vancouver

Hey gang...

An acquaintance of mine has gone missing. His name is Andrew Koenig - this is what he looks like:

Here is what a friend posted:
Andrew Koenig (AK-47, the video guy on "Never Not Funny," and "Boner" from "Growing Pains") has been missing for a week, last seen 2/14 in Vancouver. Didn't make his flight back to the US on 2/16. The Vancouver Police are involved, and lots of people are looking. Could you reblog this and help get the word out? And say some prayers or think some positive thoughts?

Andrew is a really good guy, and I hope he's OK. If you see him, please get in touch with Detective Raymond Payette of the Vancouver PD at 604-717-2534. We're hoping that he's just flown the coop, but it's been quite a while.

Here's some more info on Facebook. If you can, especially if you're in the Northwest, share it there.

If he is in Seattle, I'll find him.

That's my hope.

I don't know Andrew well, but his colleagues on Never Not Funny are my good friends, and he's my friend Jimmy's brother-in-law. He's an exceptionally warm guy, and I'm very worried about him. I'm glad his modest fame has helped get the word out, but the lack of response, either from him or from anyone who's seen him, makes me very worried.

Nearly two years ago, Koenig was arrested for civil disobedience after he protested a Rose Parade float representing China as a way of voicing dissent over America's participation in the then-pending Beijing Summer Olympic games. Koenig was acting to bring attention to the plight of the Burmese, stepping in front of the float midparade holding a sign that read, "China: Free Burma." He was detained for 10 hours and was forced to go to court for his actions, which his father fully supported. "My son has a very strong social conscience and believes that people who are deprived and people who are unfairly subjugated should have the same rights that all people should have," he said at the time.

I wonder if the Chinese nabbed him in Vancouver

Not likely, but stranger things have happened.

A sad ending for this one...reports that they have found the body in Stanley Park.

I've thought about suicide but my family will always prevent me from killing myself. I don't feel bad for Andrew Koenig because that is what he wanted, but his parents didn't deserve that shit.

It says he has been depressed buy I don't see where it mentioned suicide. Suicide in public isn't very common--especially if you are determined and not just making a cry for help. Public self-execution is normally left to jumpers but there are no bridges or tall buildings over Stanley.

He gave all his stuff away and a neighbor found his SAG card in a dumpster. If you really want to kill yourself you don't need bridges or tall buildings to do it.
