So I accidentally threw in my best dress shirt into the dryer after a wash with my other laundry

. There is now noticeable wrinkling around the stitching along the shoulder and back. Even worse, the entire button placket has become wrinkled. I tried rewashing and then ironing while wet to no avail. It seems that the thread of the stitching has shrunk while the cloth has remained mostly unshrunken. Any possible recommendations would be appreciated!

I would unpick every stitch and get someone to re-sew every seam. If that doesn't work - burn it!!

It was rlbl (I'm not Brioni level yet). I paid about $120, so it definitely hurts. Yeah the opposite may be true, the cloth shrank but the stitching did not. I re-ironed it and it is somewhat improved, but still noticeable. However thank you for the kind words.

Rewash it, and iron it right away while still wet. Make sure you really stretch it out while ironing. Pull hard. It may reduce the puckering, it may not. I've made that mistake too. Now I have a separate laundry bin for all of my do-not-dry clothing.

People pay BIG bucks around here for these Italian affections and call them Spella this or Spella that. So why don't you do the same and affect some sprezzatura.

I like Spella Wrinklianno myself.

Pull the fabric tight while ironing, if that doesnt work rewash hot and hot dry it again and see if everything shrinks.

I bet if you went into a RL B&M store they would switch it out for you.

Btw, got pics? Interested in seeing what the problem looks like. Even if just for curiosity's sake.
