A few shady characters tried to do a robbery in an upper middle class white neighborhood recently, but a cop killed the getaway driver with five shots as they were driving towards the direction of the cops. The cop did it since he felt they were trying to run him over. People I know are hating on what the cops did. They're acting like prima donnas that wouldn't kill someone who they thought was trying to kill them. Did you hear about this story Tokyo Slim?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, as a former petty criminal - this is the risk you take by doing crime. If you rob someone, and you turn your back on them and they shoot you? That's your fault.
Shot by a cop while driving the getaway car? Professional hazard. This is why being a criminal is dangerous. It also doesn't pay nearly as well as most people think. It's a pretty stupid thing to do.
True Story.

Link to story? I mean hey, I'm as anti-cop as they come but if somebody is about to run you over you are absolutely entitled to shoot the driver.

I agree with this.
For the most part we don't get a lot of uproar down here when a cop shoots someone. If someone starts driving toward a cop, and that cop is fearful for his life, it's usually understood that the cop will start shooting.
That doesn't mean there is never an uproar when it happens, but, when people do get up in arms about it, there are usually other factors that compound the problem, race, unfortunately, being a popular issue.
This is an example I remember really well, mostly because it happened so close to home.

i'm from the west, but now attend grad school in seattle.
they definitely aren't the hardest out here, but there are certain areas just like every place. the good thing about northwesterners is their progressive ideas.
in regard to the cop issue, there have been tons of cop shootings out here recently. so i think cops are not taking any sh*t these days. regardless, that wasn't the brightest move by the robber.

I'm not talking about selling crack. That shit sells itself. I'm talking about having to come up with new and interesting crimes on the regular, and then trying to figure out how to make money off them. I know a dude who once upon a time stole a few dozen tranq darts from a zoo, and then tried to convince people it was a cool party drug. That shit takes some DOING.
