Bars are just rather messy and unwieldy.
Bar soap is unwieldy? That smacks of mannered and affected prissiness.

i prefer bar soap too.

I would like to branch out and buy some quality soaps but can't justify spending the money on them when I smell just as clean using good ol' Irish Spring.
I have found that many of the more expensive soaps last a lot longer, which brings the price down.

My preference is triple-milled bar soaps that smell good.
I just don't get that clean feeling when using liquid soap.
The triple-milled production method is used by the "premium" soap manufacturers to create a much denser bar which makes these soaps last a lot longer than something like Ivory.
Brand wise I use soaps from Caswell-Massey, Bronnley, Yardley, Vinolia, L'Occitane, Pre de Provence, Claus Porto and Magno.
At this point I probably have enough bar soap to last me 10 years.
