I just don't really think the OP's goals make sense, so I'm kinda with kunk on this. You started lifting 3 months ago, for what purpose? Did you really reach your "goal" in 3 months? You want single digit bf, for what purpose? And you're sure that won't hurt the reason you starting lifting in the first place?

Listing what you eat in a day is worthless without a total cal intake.

My instincts tell me if you want more muscle and less fat you should continue getting stronger, not try harder to get smaller.

Eat less. Keep lifting. You'll lose fat. You'll keep muscle.

My point was that he hasn't been lifting long enough to not reap beginner benefits from the most recommended lifts. His stats suggest it would be foolish to intentionally add more fat in the hopes of gaining muscle. Especially when he's still early enough in the lifting game to get quick results with good lifts, even if he is eating at a deficit.

for the OP Lower caloric intake(duh) add 4-6 cans of tuna into diet drink milk when hungry workout 4 days a week run 3 days a week(1 of those being HIIT) give it a few months and youll see fat loss. oh and dont drink. alcohol has calories.

You're on a rowing team and only row 3x a week? And no water work? Anyway, 8% BF will put you as a light weight rower, most likely. Edit: I also don't understand how you are adding that much BF.

alright thanks everyone for the suggestions, i now have a pretty general idea of what to do.

rjmaiorano: right now its only pre season no water practice yet (river partialy frozen in the northeast). also, maybe 8% bf is a bit overambitious. I also added that much body fat because at one point my diet was getting really sloppy.

Oh yea, when I rowed we were required to stay off the water for some weeks in the winter to comply with some competitive advantage stuff from the NCAA.

Also, for best competitive advantage in rowing, I would suggest building muscle/mass as long as possible, maybe even with an eye to later years rather than this season. More lean mass is going to be a huge factor in success. You can be efficient aerobically/anaerobically at 165lbs but bottom line is for a 2k the 200lb guy is going to win.

Op, I can't imagine how you've managed to put on any muscle or fat given the diet you described. I can barely imagine you working out on that level of caloric intake.

If you think you need to cut, you should just resign to being "slender" and just keep doind what you're doing. You'll be a waif soon enough.
