Fill me in on Gant's denim quality? Curious as I haven't found much online.

Got a gant rugger home run varsity in burgundy size M if anyone's interested drop a pm!

It's vintage i.e. from a time before they revived Gant Rugger a few years ago.

Since it doesn't appear in this thread that I can see, Gant have finally opened up a us web store.

I bought and received it today. it is an authentic gant rugger from spring 2006 collection. It's a saleman's sample. The fit is perfect and i'm very happy with the shirt.
I think that the link you posted is only about present collection and are not shown previous years' ones.

anyone know if the the old loom oxford is long enough to tuck or is it similar to BoO, in that it works better untucked?
Works much better untucked. It has a kind of casual vibe/feel in the fabric that isn't really appropriate dressed up with a tie or tucked in (relative to something like Gitman which I think is great for both). Anyone have a p2p measurement on their rugby in a size medium?

Really I think it works well tuck / untuck. I find the length similar to my gitman shirts. I have the white oxford from this season and I wear it to work tucked with a tie sometimes. I guess its goes well "dressy casual."

Just found out my mom works for company that distrubutes gant rugger / gant MB. Going to get the 2011 fall / winter booklet tonight to gander what is coming up. Totally stocked as I think they offer pretty good basics.

Post some scans? I've only seen pre-fall on the net.

No can do. Mom won't let me lol. The book was drawings of line up not actual real pic. Hard to tell. Rugger shirt line up (most of them is the easy fit). From the pictures it looks like they still have that stupid stamp on the bottom of the shirt - Yes i know its not a big deal but thought they would have got rid of it this upcoming season. They have some nice knits.
The MB lines still doing the whole rugby / lacoste theme. Not my thing, but they do have a pretty cool stripe heavy rugby polo (Nice quilting detail on the upper part of the garment) Lots of blazers with elbow patches. Some shetland sweaters that look pretty nice.

re tucking Gant Rugger, I almost always tuck my "the hugger" shirt (feels a bit long worn untucked, and I generally think tucked shirts look better), have a bunch of old loom oxfords, both plaid and plain, aswell as old loom poplin. Just got a "the getlemans workshirt" today, chambray shirt in the hugger-fit, bd collar and buttoned breast pocket. Good stuff.

Agree, the stamp is stupid. Hate it. Makes me not want to wear the shirts untucked. I don't get it at all. And the Gant by MB stuff is a generally bit OTT preppy for my tastes.

Has anybody handled the cotton fishtail parka that's up for sale on Gilt right now? It's this one, from Spring 2010:

I'm curious about the fit and the quality - and about whether it's water-resistant.

I dislike the stamp too. It's ridiculous and there is no reason for it being there.

Having said that, the fit on an XL Gant Rugger is just about perfect for my 6' 6" frame. Slim and long down the body. Because of this, I put up with it and am investing in more.

so the consensus here is to size up?

I'm looking to buy a polo and am wondering if my fat butt's gonna fit the thing. I'm a small (4) in a Lacoste Live! polo, 38 chest (borderline 39).

Is Medium the fit fo' me??
I stick to a SMALL if you want it slim. I'm a SMALL in gitman, MED in BoO and I got small with gant rugger. Not sure for their polos though as I have just their shirts.

I want slim. I will stick to SMALL and post measurements here to ensure no one else has to go through what I'm going through.
