So I already have a pair of Adidas Y-3 Field in brown suede, and I like them so much that I am considering another pair in black leather, unfortunately they are $300 a pop. Is there something wrong with me spending that much money on a pair of sneakers?

They look like this, but are ALL black:

No, there is nothing wrong with you. There are some shoes in the Nike SB line that go for over $300+ and yes, there are people who are paying that much for them.

Someone on Ebay just paid $71 for a pair of SB Jedi shoelaces...so there's nothing wrong with you, or there is something extremely wrong with both of you

I think we should at it not as an adidas shoe, but a Yohji one. And you know how his prices are.

Well, I did mention it was a Y-3, thus I thought it was indicative...but yeah, I probably should have posted that it was the "˜designer' Adidas brand.

There are people on this forum paying $70,000 for a watch, I think you can pretty much justify any kind of spending here.

I'll spend a lot on something I really dig but $300 is beyond my cutoff for trainers. The most I spent was $165 on a pair, and even then I thought I was insane. Altho last fall I did see a Neil Barrett/Puma trainer for $265 that I seriously considered, but passed on.

As for the initial question,
is there something wrong with me?
of course but we like you anyway. Well generally. Sort of. At least occassionally.

P.s. what exactly makes those so much more expensive than other Nike lines? The material or that they are limited runs (no pun intended)?

For those shoes, yes, you're crazy. IMO, they just look like ordinary suede Pumas but by Adidas and they say Yohji down the stripe.

IMO, I wouldn't buy them even if they were $50. There are other y-3 shoes I would get, but not those.

I'd spend that on a pair of shoes that I liked. Probably wouldn't think twice.

But not on those.
